The legendary Primatte Keyer is enhanced. Thirty years old, the core algorithm “Polyhedron Slicing Method” is replaced with a brand-new “Spherical Relief Patch” and “Pixel Adaptive Process” system to handle the green/blue screen image. Utilizing numerous futuristic computing technologies, including the inference of neighboring pixels and the spill judgment with supervised machine learning, PrimatteAI takes chromakeying to the next level of image quality and efficiency.

Analyzing the blue/green screen image at pixel level using cutting-edge computer vision technology, PrimatteAI infers and generates the composite result.

PrimatteAI calculates the chromakey process not based on color space but on a local pixel-by-pixel analysis. It applies the appropriate key setting at each location of the foreground object. With the conventional Primatte, a red object shows a yellow edge when keying a yellow object in front of a green screen.

PrimatteAI uses a proprietary FG/BG blending technology. It is not alpha blending nor an additive mix. It can retain the thin hair detail, similar to the backing color. When using Separating Surface mode that categorizes the Fg and Bg in RGB color space, PrimatteAI employs flexible “Spherical Relief Patch” to fit on the complex Fg color distribution.
